System Health Check
A measured diagnostic of an existing plant — water tested, performance compared against design, and a written report with costed recommendations.
Water treatment plants rarely fail suddenly. They drift. Recovery slips a few percent, permeate conductivity creeps up, a softener starts breaking through before the end of its cycle — and because each change is small, the plant is often well past the point of easy correction before anyone reacts.
A health check catches that drift while it is still cheap to fix. We test the feed and treated water, measure flows, pressures and conductivity across every stage, inspect media and membrane condition, review your operating logs, and compare all of it against what the plant was designed to do. You receive a written report with findings, root causes and costed recommendations — including, where relevant, the finding that nothing needs doing.

Scope
What the service covers
Water analysis
Feed and treated water tested for the parameters that matter to your duty — TDS, hardness, pH, iron, turbidity and microbiological load as applicable.
Performance measurement
Stage-by-stage pressures, flows and conductivity recorded and compared with the original design figures.
Media and membrane assessment
Physical inspection of filter media, resin condition and membrane fouling indicators, with remaining life estimated.
Mechanical and electrical inspection
Pumps, valves, dosing systems, instrumentation and control panel checked for wear, calibration drift and safety.
Operating practice review
Logs, regeneration settings and cleaning frequency reviewed — many problems are operational rather than mechanical.
Written report
Findings, root cause analysis and prioritised recommendations, each with an indicative cost so you can plan.
Deliverables
What you actually receive
Every engagement produces documentation you can file, audit and hand to the next engineer.
- Laboratory water analysis report
- Measured performance data against design
- Photographic record of plant condition
- Prioritised, costed action list
- Estimated remaining life of media and membranes
- Recommended service interval going forward
Questions
Frequently asked
How often should a plant be health-checked?
Annually for most commercial installations, and half-yearly where the duty is critical or the feed water is difficult. Plants under our AMC are checked as part of the contract rather than as a separate engagement.
Will you check a plant supplied by someone else?
Yes. A significant share of our health checks are on third-party equipment, often where performance has fallen off and the original supplier is no longer engaged. The report is the same regardless of who built the plant.
What if the report says nothing needs doing?
Then that is what it says. The value of an independent assessment lies in it being independent — a report that always finds expensive problems is not a diagnostic, it is a sales call.
Tell us what your water is doing. We will tell you what it needs.
Send us your requirement and an engineer responds within 24 working hours — with a recommendation, not a sales pitch.
