Targeted upgrades that restore performance and add capacity to an existing plant — usually at a fraction of what full replacement costs.

Replacement is the easiest recommendation for a supplier to make and frequently the wrong one for the client. A large share of underperforming plants have entirely serviceable vessels, skids and pipework, and are failing because of an undersized front end, a worn high-pressure pump, degraded media or instrumentation that stopped reading accurately years ago.

We assess what you have before proposing what you need. Where the core asset is sound, a targeted retrofit restores performance for a fraction of replacement cost and avoids the downtime a full changeout demands. Where the plant genuinely has reached the end of its economic life, we will say so and show you the numbers behind that view.

What the service covers

Capacity enhancement

Additional membrane elements, larger pumps or extra streams where demand has outgrown the original design.

Pre-treatment correction

The most common fix. Adding or resizing filtration, softening and dosing to stop membranes and media failing prematurely.

Energy efficiency

Right-sized pumps, variable frequency drives and revised operating pressures to reduce a plant that is costing more to run than it should.

Automation upgrade

PLC and HMI control, automatic flush cycles and conductivity-based diversion retrofitted to manually operated plants.

Instrumentation renewal

Replacing dead or drifted flow meters, pressure gauges and conductivity probes so operators can see what the plant is doing.

Compliance retrofit

Bringing an older installation up to a current discharge or quality standard without rebuilding it from scratch.

Is retrofitting genuinely cheaper than replacing?

In most cases where the vessels, skid and pipework are structurally sound, yes — substantially. The assessment establishes it either way, and we present both options with costs so the decision is yours and made on evidence.

Will the plant be shut down during the upgrade?

We plan around your operation. Many upgrades are executed in phases or during planned shutdowns, and for critical installations we can arrange temporary treated water supply to bridge the work.

Can you upgrade another manufacturer's plant?

Yes. We work on equipment from any manufacturer. The assessment establishes what is serviceable and what is not, irrespective of the original supplier.
